LAST SEASON REVIEW

The Inn on the Hill B took the Just Print Carmarthen and District Pool League title by the narrowest of margins, edging out the Inn on the Hill A team by just 2 points on the final day of the season. After a poor start to the season the Inn A fought back over the weeks but could not quite catch the Inn B team who remained strong over the last few weeks, notching up impressive wins over the Castle A (7-0) and The Dairies Reds (5-2).

At the foot of the table the New King George Rockets ran out of fuel and players towards the end of the season, and last years Division 1 champions find themselves relegated straight back down again. They are joined by the Attic Bar team who although seeing out the season could not quite catch the Dairies Reds who stay up and still have a game in hand against the Bartsters.

In Division 1 The Friends Arms have been pretty much unstoppable since the first day of the season and have romped away to a massive 117 points – 33 clear of 2nd placed Golden Lion, who gain promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated last season. The Friends Arms in fact only lost 14 singles games over the course of the whole season, and puts their players in a good spot for the overall player of the year trophy, which will be decided once the upcoming singles knockout has reached its conclusion.

Premiership League Player of the Year: Alex Jennison (Coracle Sharks) & Chris Roderick (Castle A) 14 wins

Runner Up: Scott Edwards & Arwel Davies (Inn A) 13 wins

Division 1 Player of the Year: Paul Williams & Steve Rees (Friends Arms) 16 wins

Runner Up: Lee Thomas (Railway Club) 14 wins

Ladies League Player of the Year: Nina Cox (Golden Lion) 12 wins

Runner Up: Caz Davies (Golden Lion) 11 wins
